While jigging for crappie I couldn't get anything to bite except sandies. I figured if you can't beat EM join em so I put on a tiny trap and the crappie wanted to bite. I guess the fish were a bit confused but if the picture comes through then you can see the tiny trap with one of the crappie on it. Caught a lot of sandies and 5 crappie on that tiny trap today. Right at the end of my excursion I moved back where I started and put on a thermocline and as they say.....KABOOM, I picked up a few more crappie.

the three best did come off a Thermocline jig. It was my first trip to try em out and the sandies wouldn't leave it alone. That's when I figured can't beat em join em and took out the trap. Right before I left I picked up the jiggin' pole and three decent crappie pretty quick. They didn't hit the thermocline jig, they inhaled it. Im off to San Antonio for the Golf Industry Show so won't get another chance until late next week. The next trip will be to test my jig selection from constant pursuit. Stay safe when the ice and snow hits.

The crappie look good but you cheated using those bass fishermen treble hooks on the lure!

You gotta replace those treble hooks with single hooks and fish the lure like a crappie fisherman.

Anybody can snag fish using treble hooks. peep roflmao

Seriously I bought several mini-lures last October. I'm looking forward to the time when I can test them to see how they perform as compared to jigs.

I'm going to try spider rigging and slow trolling when I start fishing again. All the Northern pros use the mini-lures with their spider rigging so I bought some to try myself.
