I'm sure this question has been asked a million times. I've done a search and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I've just moved back to TX after retiring from the Air Force and want to take a trip down to Falcon in the next 3 weeks before I have to start working again. Which guide would you hire and why?

Thanks

Jay Grieshaw, fished with him several times, the latest was last week. He will put you on fish, one of the better personalities I've fished with.

Yup Jay or Tommy Law. Both are locals and stay on fish as good as anyone

Fished with Falcon Guide Billy Tompkins today and we did really well. The two of you need to hook up as he was also in the Air Force. He takes great care of vets. Take a look below at his recent post.

Billy also has the nicest place on the lake to stay at, which is also right on the water.

Billy Tompkins is my go to guide on Falcon. He's always on good fish and has the best place to stay on the lake as well. Oh and you won't have to fish against him on your trip like you would have to do with the other guys..... Check his website out he's the real deal on Falcon!

Like others have stated. Bassin Billy would be my first choice. Great guide who stays in the back of the boat and let's you fish off the front deck unimpeded the whole time. If you need help he will help as much as needed. Also happens to have the nicest accommodations on the lake as Jersey pointed out. Was down last week and he had his clients on some darn good fish. Check him ouT.

Bassin Billy Tompkins----
He put me on my PB 4 times.
Never caught a fish over 5 pounds until I fished with him, then I had 4 new pb's in 2 days.
Great guide, lots of fun, doesn't fish unless you want him to.
He will put you on fish on Falcon

Billy Tompkins is your guy with out a doubt. This man loves and HIGHLY supports our service men and women. I recommend you stay at his lodge and let him put you on a PB. He did it for me!

Nutman is right, he will not fish unless you want him too or if you just cant catch the fish that he calls he"ll make fun of you and catches the 5lber! Lol this is just the fun we had. He walked me through exactly what he was doing and bam fish in the boat. Give him a good look you'll have a heck of a time.

Just finished my 4 Years in August with the Air Force! Thank you for your service and good luck.

Call James or Tom Bendele at Falcon LakeTackle. 956-765-4866.

I love Billy and what he does for his brothers. And I'd fish with him in a heartbeat and stay at his place in half that.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't try and bribe Charlie Haralson into a trip, first. I've covered lots of water with some of the best in the business, but none like Charlie.

Since that's not probable, I'll defer to the folks in Zapata who will not only steer you in the right direction for fishing, but will also come save your chops on the Rio Meanie, should the need arise. Simply exch phone numbers before you head off toward the sound of banjos

I mean Mariachis

I once would have said the same, that is until Charlie failed to return $400 in deposits when he stopped guiding. It was always one excuse after another. My brother and I were good customers and he flat stole from us . Yes, I'm still bitter.
