MY son shot this last Saturday on Sam. Leaving mid lake, Caney, with fulls wells and fish and all my gear. Heading back to Twin Dikes. My 250 pound brother was sitting in the passenger seat and my son on the console filming. Boat is set up for just me and my son. I weigh 200 and my son 100 and if you notice everytime she falls of pad it's to the left due to my brothers extra weight. Bumped her up on pad about 30 seconds in and she starts to walk at about 1:00. A year ago and I would have had to let off to stop the chine. Amazing what seat time does for you. The duck to the left at 40 seconds is classic...

With that much weight that's what she'll do. I had some more trim but with it not being balanced right I didn't wan't to fight it so much. With just me and the boy 66-68.

Got a question and I'm not trying to be smart but rather curious as I also run a Phoenix 618. Why trim up to where the boat starts chine walking when you can drop the bow just a little and get an excellent ride and it's easier to drive? I hear people talking all the time about driving the chine. Are you just trying to find the top end?

To whom much is given, much is required.

You are correct. Easier to drive with it trimmed down but your speed and fuel economy suffer from pushing the hull through the water. Get it up on pad and there is less friction and you get better fuel economy and faster speeds. Once you get the hang of it it's not that hard to drive on pad. You can feel when it starts to fall and correct it before it starts to walk. In the video she fell off pad a few times and I was able to make small adjustments to put it back.
