Going in June and wanting to do some fishing. What's a good bait and setup? Line weight ect? Have not surf fished before so looking for any help.

You need to go next door to Orange Beach, better fishing, the WalMart there has the best fishing dept I have ever seen in one.

I'll be there in June as well. Hauling my kayak down so I can get offshore. In the surf fresh dead shrimp on a small circle hook and a light fluorocarbon leader works. If you keep getting bit off then Bluefish are there. I walk the surf early and throw top waters and small silver spoons. Hard tails and Lady fish should keep you busy. Looks for schools of bait getting busted.

I'll be following this with some interest. We are camping at Gulf State Park in July & intend to wet a line or two.

We go every June or early July and stay on the far east of Gulf Shores on the more private beach....we have caught Blue fish, blue runners, flounder, trout shark and even hooked a tarpon by just wade fishing the beach with gulp and topwater
