Alright big decision coming up. Wife is out of town this weekend so obviously I'm going fishing.

I thought I would head to the Blue River this weekend but a few bad reports have me thinking otherwise. Arkansas or LMF look out of the question Saturday because of bad weather. Carp aren't biting in the flats yet so I'm ruling out lakes near DFW.

So where should I go? I need help!!

Ntxfish lol good idea(hey we are getting real close I'll txt you). Well I was headed to sandbass utopia but it is starting to not look good. You said Arkansas so if you are not scared of the drive I'm sending a pm of same time as Arkansas trip. But I have been watching weather conditions state wide and I'd really don't think you could go wrong with a broken Bow right now. I have been there with through the night downpours and still done well the next day. The closer you get to the top of spillway creek the water rarely gets color at all.

You cant go wrong with the LMF if you are searching for trout. A little rain and the Blue becomes a disaster area. Rain usually makes the LMF fish even better.

I'll be at BB. Look for the guy in a olive colored rain jacket and brown rain hat with his head down to avoid the rain in the eyes.

I'm going on a family weekend with In Laws. I know they will be trapped inside the cabin, but I will be out in the rain swollen river.

Holler if you see me.

Related to rainfall? In a good or bad way?

I was wondering about this. So LMF will fish okay even with rain? Weather is saying 50% chance Thursday and Friday with a 90% chance of storms saturday.

I like the rain, less bait chunkers out there. Trout usually eat good in the rain. Can't see them as easy, but they can't see you either.

Lightning will get me to packing my rods up....but that is about it.

Saturday the thunderstorms do worry me, but I will bounce around when that happens (go eat at cabin or whatever).

Fly fishing on a river is much better than fishing a lake in a boat....rain hurts at 50-70mph. smile

McCurtain County gets more rain than anywhere in the 4 state region.....it's always raining there. LOL!

LMF is better in the rain as long as you can stand the conditions. try every color of san juan worm trailing a mayfly emerger. If its just damp and dreary, there will always be a BWO hatch around noon - that can be lots of fun.

BBT is right - the rain keeps a lot of people inside. Even if it does rain, it rarely adds more than 10CFS to the water. It does stain a little, so smaller bugs don't work as well. Streamers are great during the rain too.

Rained this am from 3 - 4, stream is cloudy from cardiac to white now blue pipe. Fishing was great between the dump holes where there were no less than 20 folks rotating in and out every 30 minutes.
No place to park, idiots and I mean idiots everywhere you go, just breath and fish, breath and fish. Caught numerous at least 30 but all small stockers and a few 2 year old paw marked bows. didn't matter the color as long as it was red or pink and sitting on the bottom.

Sun's out and it 60 so it will only get worse in the remaining few hours of day light. Regearing, carb-loading and a couple of shots for the nerves and going after them again.
