Won't get much info here until bass champs is over. Check with James at falcon lake tackle or Tommy laws website. They both stay pretty current. From past experience, rocky points down south always would atleast get bites. Should be plenty of fish in the bushes for the spinnerbait and flipping too.

Jaret hit the nail on the head, 8 up to 1 ft spinnerbait and flipping. Hope you hit a good weather window.

Fishing is really tough for the most part. There are very few spots that you can go hammer the fish and you will see that in the weights this weekend for Champs. The leader-board will be VERY top heavy. Your best bet is to pick a creek and head to the back and as far back as you can go. Work your way out throwing spinnerbaits, baby brush hogs, and chatterbaits out to 8 foot. Don't just focus on the old growth ie, hardwoods either. Get into the middle of that new growth, especially the greenest, nastiest retama's that you can find. I would not waist your time with fishing rocks/offshore with this being your first rodeo down here. Best of luck.

Just got home Monday from a short trip down. First time down there in a couple years. The fishing was much better than last time. Our numbers were good each day, but to make up those numbers we did have a bunch of small fish. Which looks good for the future. No big fish, by old Falcon standards. We did have some really nice fish though. Right at 7 was biggest and buddy lost one little bigger at boat. 8" Kudzu lizards was by far our best bait. We did catch a bunch on baby brush hogs also, but the Lizard did seem to catch the better fish. Caught a few on chatterbaits. We did find fish in back of creeks, and actually caught a few fish off beds. When we fished the main lake shallow bushes (green bushes), our average size went up, but our numbers would go down. We fished all over too and pattern seemed to work on both ends of the lake.

We caught them staging on the main lake points in 8 to 12 foot this past weekend up to 8 lbs. Believe it or not, on a 3/8 oz spinnerbait that deep.

Tried the shallow stuff but didn't develop a pattern shallow, few areas on the Mexico side giving up the shallow fish. A slowly fished and light weighted Lizard should pick up a few, chartreuse dyed tail helps tremendously!
