Received my powell rod the other day from tackle warehouse. I got the powell max mag punching rod, I took it out of the tube and man it felt great, light, well balanced and it seemed like the quality was there. So I put my revo on and lock it down, start running my braided line through the eyes and I get to the third eye from the tip and it's completely full of glue( can't even get my line through it ). So I'm in the process of exchanging it. My question is has anybody else had any quality issues with their powell rods?

Got 2 endurance, 1 max, and 2 desil rods by powell, all have outstanding finish and bought from TW like yours. Personally, I wouldn't bother sending it back, just crack out the glue and be happy

It's was full of eye glue probably over an 1/8" thick. Tried seeing if I could get it out fairly easily but it was like cement. Figured it was in my best interest to just send it back rather than damage a brand new rod.

I own 8 and haven't had any issues with quality...the cork quality is consistent no splitting or pitting.

Well that was my first experience with a powell rod. It was nice, the quality and balance were there but man when I found out the eye was jacked up I was upset! Oh well, now just waiting on the return!

I just bought a Powell Max 705CB model off the used rack at Angler's pro in almost like new condition for about $80. i couldn't be happier with it. Went out on a quick bank fishing trip with it using it for the first time and landed 5 bass with no issues and it felt amazing! Im sold on them for sure and you can't beat the deal I got on it either! Ive scored some really nice rods from the consignment used section from Rick. Can't beat it!

We also stock the full line of Powell Rods.

Also we have around 100 rods right now in our consignment section. Some great deals in there on rods and reels.

I have several Powell rods and have used them for many years now and have never had a single issue with any of them. I have the Max and the Endurance rods.
