Yes sir. I catch quite a few crappie at Texoma fishing for stripers. Minnows are a better bait but you can catch them on crankbaits. The ones you catch on crankbaits are pretty big. I've got several over 16 inches. I don't use little crank baits to catch them. They hit fairly large fat free shad like this that I use for stripers:

I like the crank baits as they catch much larger Crappie. I don't have to continually take off dinks.

Last year the only post spawn crappie I caught in LBJ came off a deep diving rapala. A suspending crank works very well for them in Travis also.

I've done pretty well trolling multiple crank baits at a time. I use the rebel deep diving ones.
