Planning on going to the electronics seminar at oak ridge Saturday and was going to fish beforehand so I was wondering if anyone has used the 154 or oak ridge ramps lately? Thanks for any replies.

154 ramp is fine. Barry said to launch on your own accord at Oak Ridge as it was getting harder. I usually see some boats launching there.

154 public ramp is good to go until the lake nearly dries completely up. This ramp was open when the lake 1st opened in it's 1st stage. Don't remember what the water level was but I can tell you the lake at this stage did not even go to the 515 East bridge! Nice dock here also. Nice ramp. It will get a lot more crowded on weekends as the 515 East ramp becomes less usable though.

Very true. I launched at Oak Ridge 2 weeks ago and dinged my prop on the rocks loading.

the 154 ramp is fine...I've launched in/out of it 5-6 times the last few weeks....no issues.

I think it was around 8,500 surface acres when she opened.

Why risk it when you have a good free ramp a mile away? Barely had the motor low enough to push the 21' boat on the trailer.

if it is that bad, but I didn't have any problems with 20'9". Oak Ridge has more secure parking lot than the public ramp and I just like to support Oak Ridge, nice having restaurant and tackle store there before and after too. all that said the 154 ramp is very nice, although getting a little shallow in front of boat dock.

I wouldn't try the oak ridge ramp. Its hard enough to swing in there and bank the boat to go eat lunch. It's still doable but its not as easy as it used to be.

Also have to pick your partner up on the ramp.

I know it wasn't mentioned, but used The Minnow Bucket last weekend and had no issue whatsoever. I was by myself and pulled up to the bank on the right side of the ramp to get in & out of the boat and had no issue.

The boat dock and the bank are real shallow at the public ramp (154 bridge). Hard to park your boat to move your vehicle or to pick up a partner.

Launched at Fork at 154 for the first time in April 82 with the lake not completely full. So 154 will be good for a while.

But the main issue might be parking! One might have to launch and drive around the corner to pick up their partner....
