After sifting through tons and tons of hand tying forums and reading material ihabe finally just decided to post my questions here. I wanna start making my own jigs, but I'm unsure of the equipment I will need to get started. There's a ton of this and that and while I know a lot of it is preference , but what would be best for a starter?

First......you might want to post this on the "jig makers" forum. (top of this page) Second.......you need to ask yourself a couple of questions. How committed are you to making your own jigs and what is your budget? You can get started for under $50 or much more depending on the vise you start with. Making your own jigs can be addictive and will end up costing you a lot of $$$$. But it is fun and rewarding when you catch a big fish on "your" baits. Crazy Angler has a nice little starter kit that you can purchase as a way to "test the water" and see if you like making your own jigs.

Crazy angler sells a starter kit. I got it and it's not bad for the money.

Heath Couple pigeons flying around the shop, with a lot less feathers than they had this morning Just don't make the mistake I made after the neighbors cat did in a couple birds at my bird feeder. To be sure, Eastern Bluebird & Goldfinch feathers make some STRIKING jigs.................but they're as illegal as them crooked cigarette's used to be in Colorado! A good buddy on this forum gave me the heads up before I posted any photos and I unassembled then on the spot.
