Taking a trip to San Antonio first of March. Any big bass lakes around the area?

Most lakes in South Texas are fishing tough due to low water/drought.. (Choke Canyon, Amistad, and Falcon)
Some of the lakes that fare better are Lake Austin, and Lake Dunlap...

Lake Austin or Lake Dunlap is your best bet.

Only a few close to SA, Choke Canyon 1.5 hour drive, Coleto Creek 1.5 hour drive, Falcon 2.5 hour drive, and only Coleto is close to full pool. There are two lakes just South of SA off hwy 37 - Calaverus and Braunig they supposedly have bass in them but better known for reds. Like said above, Lake Austin or Lake Dunlap for bass would be better options, but that is only my opinion.
I am not making any decisions until the bourbon kicks in!

Hey Angler, I live and SA and all of the comments above are true. If you want to fish something close to SA your best choice is Dunlap, right now it is fishing tough with the low water. Next choice is Lake Austin which is about an 1 hr, depending on where you're staying. Then Choke, Coleto, Falcon.....if you don't mine the driven..I would drive down to Falcon for a day or two. I have pulled several nice bass out of that lake, but it's a day long commitment.
