What does everyone think about them My first thought about them was... Who makes them? Haha. This is the first I've heard about them. But, and I firmly believe this, If it has a pro anglers name on it, it probably isn't worth what it costs and is usually reserved for the entry level stuff.

I am not sure about that I have a few that have some names on them and they are excellent rods. A few of them are from the manufacturer in your signature there.

Well. Mike McClelland series are pretty much the exception, even though the ones I have are Cara ST series and they don't say a name on them. And I am a big Falcon fan. Have you tried the Cristies? Hah. You'll get my drift. What about the Skeet Reese? Or hell. Anything with Bill Dance or Jimmy Houston. Even the KVD series stuff is pretty entry level.
Also why I said "usually". I was thinking about the Caras when I typed that.

Can't really say a signature makes it so called entry level stuff!

Can't really say a signature makes it so called entry level stuff! The silver Christie rod is not even in the same league as a Bucoo. This is a Christie that I converted to a two piece setting into a 6lb bass. That was my daughters Christie Heavy 7'2". It went to the trash pile. I guess at $80 you get what you pay for. The BuCoos are ok. Just don't get a Micro buCoo. Lots of issues with guides popping out. The Cara Micros use a better guide. But, again, I can name more entry level rods with big names than I can name high end rods with big names. Another funny fact. Jason uses Cara rods.

I had a chance to feel several different models last Saturday. Very good feeling rods that compare to the Veracity series, but at a $129 price point. I believe the 15 models will cover most, if not all, fishing applications.
I was impressed with how they felt and will be ordering several in the next few days.

Hey I agree, just making the point that just because it has a signature doesn't make it entry level or for that matter a great Rod. It really only means that the guy who's signature in on the rod is making money. I've got a couple of different brand rods that look just like that one and one is a BooCoo. That's the reason I'm slowly going to Power Tackle Rods made right here in good old Del Rio...

I heard the new Ike rods were extra resistant to being smashed on the deck of a boat...

Entry level rods catch em just as good as high end ones as a matter of fact I know a lot of old timers that still use $49 all stars and them guys can flat catch em.... its all a personal preference in my opinion on what u like..... in my experience rods are getting so good these days that after $ 150 rod sensitivity doesn't change much..... biggest difference you gain by spending more money is less weight and little better balanced

[quote=HatCamBass]I heard the new Ike rods were extra resistant to being smashed on the deck of a boat... [/quote That was my first thought also. Second thought, do they come with a wide flat brim cap that says IkeRod on it?

They are obviously not intended for the level of fishing pro found on the TFF. I mean, everyone knows that you can't be taken seriously as an angler without at least a dozen $1,000 rod/reel combos laid out on the deck of your $75k bass boat. Since celebrity endorsements are unique to bass fishing, I'll explain that those endorsements are intended to appeal to the masses, giving value to a product. They are mass produced, mass appeal rods that put money in his pocket just like all the other rods on the market with people's name on them (with the exception of rods like Duckett, Dobyns, etc. that are actual brands).
