Water Temp. 58

Normal pool 164.40

Water Clarity 2 feet

02-15-15

Sam Rayburn is at 164 .53 ft just over full pool.

Bass;

Awesome is the word for Sam Rayburn this year with the water just over pool and lots of buck brush. There is what I call hay grass on the points and down the banks that has 2 to 4 foot of water under it. The bass have been moving in there waiting for March. I seen water temps from 55 to 59 in some of the pockets and have caught several big fish moving in. There are a lot of male bass up shallow and this is making for great action for everyone. Lots of flipping and pitching this year. Strike Pro Lipless crankbaits and Stanley Spinner Baits have been some of the best baits to cover a lot of water looking for active fish. Now for the ones that like a little slower pace and love soft plastics. The Doodlebug by E2Bait Company has shown it will catch fish when flipped on top of the grass, pulled off the edges or used on Carolina Rig off the deep ledges. The feel of the fish picking that bait up then setting the hook is awesome. The best deep bite has been from 8 to 20 ft off points and creek channels.

Crappie; The Crappie fishing has been on and off as they move back down the river ready to spawn. Catching the crappie as they move in can be tricky but if you get lucky you can have a blast filling the cooler.

White Bass ; The white bass have been biting with larger females being caught in some areas. If youre looking for great action and hard fighting fish these are the ones.

Get you trips booked now as the dates are going fast.

Bass Cats are not just good looking they are built tough and can put on some speed. Get on down to Bowden Marine for a new BASS CAT. If you havent taken a ride in one nows the time. Give Bowden Marine a call at (281) 441-7773 or drop by and visit them at 3000 Atascocita RD Humble TX 77396. Get down there and check the little honeys out then let them know I sent you. Good Luck.

Don Chumley
If I ain't fishing, I ain't happy.
But mostly I'm happy.
I love being retired, the check is in the mail.
