I know there is a beautiful thread about this with step by step pics etc. However, after exhausting the search button everyway I can I can't find it to save my life. Anyone know where its hiding? Sorry, and thanks in advance.

definitely get with hopalong. he has the cleanest vro/fuel pump changeover i've seen. i'll attach a pic of his work.
i did the same thing to a '93 200hp evinrude a few years ago. it's a simple project. you're going to want to put the electric pump back where the vro was on the engine. mine was on the port side and hopalongs was in between the carbs.
basically just remove the vro and it's mounting bracket. you may or may not be able to reuse it for the electric pump. run your fuel line through a filter to the in feed on the new pump, then tee off the fuel line on the outflow side to go to the choke solenoid and continue the fuel line to your carbs. mine had a single line and hopalongs had a dual. remember to plug off the oil supply hose that used to go to the vro. just screw in a tight fitting bolt and ziptie it off.
you can remove the oil reservoir because now you will be mixing your own oil/gas. i think that's about it. if i've left something out i'm sure someone will be along soon to let you know.
not much to it. in reality all your doing is swapping the electric pump for the vro. everything else pretty much stays the same. good luck.
oh yeah. power to the electric pump. two ways to do it. wire it to your ignition key so it comes on when you turn the key, or run a separate switch to control the on/off to the electric pump. i preferred the separate switch and mounted it by the drivers console. hopalong put his on the motor cowling. mines lighted so i can tell when its on or off. when you get old you tend to forget stuff like that. lol

I have done it on a 2003 60hp Johnson and it is going to be way different than the V6. Had to mount the pump to the intake left side in the VRO area, then notch the air silencer to clear the pump and fuel lines. Purple wire going to VRO powers up when ignition is turned on, connect it to the red pump wire with a 10 amp inline fuse and black connects with pump hold down bolt.

this, and my switch is just for shutting off the pump if I need to work on the engine with key on (pump is wired to purple wire that used to go to vro).

it may or may not work on that engine, you need the yellow pump (the 4-6 cyl) or you will have way too much pressure to the bowls.

might even need an inline pressure adjustment, I will look up psi for that engine and get back to ya by sat. I am gonna be gone/busy for a couple of days.

What pump did you use on the 60?

I have a 70 hp I want to do this on but have been warned the pumps will be too big for it.

you would need the yellow one too, look on the pkg before you buy and verify the psi first, I am not sure what psi a 70 needs and the 4-6 cyl might still be too big. there is a fuel regulator you can get to calm down the psi from the pump but have no idea what the cost is.

oriellys is about the best spot to buy it all.

I have also done other outboards that I installed the pump somewhere near the fuel tank. It makes for a much cleaner installation. Little more work running the wires to it. It is an electric pump so get 2 so you will have a spare. I have used the Facet like this on motors 125hp and smaller with good luck: 2-4psi
