Yes I had 1 that exact boat the Texas Twister model, for a bass boat it was just fine, I had no complaints except it was not a center console bay boat, it sold in 10 hrs after listing. The only negative was the steering was very hard, love the CC, no more bass boats.

I have an 01 dual console. Love it and has served me well. Oh, mine has hydraulic steering. It works well on smaller lakes as well as bigger lakes. However I wouldn't want to go out on Lake Erie with a 40mph wind in it. That would be my only issue but I don't know of any 18 and 1/2 foot boats that do either. As long as you learn how to drive it will serve you well.

Sold an 04 last year. Great boat, storage was good. I did add hydraulic steering also. Took larger lakes well. Just needed to upgrade to a bigger boat. Triton TR20X..

Has anybody owned or own a 2001 Triton TR186? Looking for some input. Pros/Cons etc. I have that exact model and year Triton. I bought it used in Y2011. It is a single console (which is what I like), 150 Merc XR6. The only thing it lacks that I would like is a jackplate, but otherwise, it has been a very good boat; still is. Do your due diligence and you will get a good boat, Triton or not. I find the back compartment that holds the batteries, bilge pump etc. difficult to work with because of limited space. This is probably true of most boats but the Triton is more difficult than the Nitro I previously owned, but my body doesn't bend like it once did - lols. I'm in the Plano area. If you want to see one up and close and how rigged, PM me and we can set something up.
