So I'm looking for a new rod and I'm hoping to get some input. I'm needing around a 7' MH rod primarily for spinnerbaits, but it'll be a general utility rod as well. I'm looking for something that's light with a fast tip and good backbone, around $100. I've been looking at the Duckett Ghost and Abu Veritas. I have a few St Croix Mojo bass and I like them but they're heavier than what I want for this one. Any thoughts?

I loved my 7' MH 13 Omen until I broke it in a ceiling fan. It sounds just like the rod you're wanting. Light, fast tip, I used it for everything from a jig to a spinnerbait to crankbait. Still need to send mine in and get it replaced for $50...

I like the Shimano Compre rods. They have a 6'8" MH that should be super for SBs, and serve as a good utility rod. If you make long casts with SBs, it also comes in a 7'2" length. But for close in work, the 6'8" would be better IMO. It sells for near a hundred dollars at Tackle Warehouse.

I bought one of the new 7'-6" BPS cranking sticks for my son a few weeks ago for $100. It is very light and feels as good as any of my Dobyns.

A 7ft Crucial TC-4 rod makes a good all around rod for spinner baits as well as for small to medium crank baits.

They are made by a couple good old boys in Magnolia and your going to get more rod for the money.

i have both a 7' MH Ghost and 7'3" MH Veritas. I use the Veritas for throwing spinnerbaits, 1/2oz jigs/tx rigs and it works really well. My opionion the Ghost feels more like a medium action rod than a MH rod.

Don't know about the Ghosts but I sure love my micro magics for spinnerbaits. You can pick up a used one usually for around $100. They're great!

The Falcon Bucoo line is nice at that price range.

I've give the Falcon a look too. My only hesitation to the 13 Omen is that I'd have to buy it sight-unseen, which I try to avoid.
