Hey guys, im about to buy my first fiberglass bass boat. its an 07 nitro in mint condition. When I am at plane speed the boat leans hard to my side (starboard). I thought maybe the weight difference between my gf and i was causing the lean, so i had her drive it. Same results, still leaned hard to the starboard side. I called the local tracker dealer and they said thats not normal but have no idea whats causing it and have never heard of such an issue. Can any of you give advice on this issue? anyone experienced the same thing? I am signing papers this week to purchase but dont want to go through with it if its going to be a major issue. Thanks!

Sounds like you shouldn't do it if it's an unknown issue, you're asking for problems.

Save your money; do not purchase something that is not right. Listen to the local tracker dealer.

Did the seller say anything about it? If he was silent about it, RUN! Still, I would find another boat. There are plenty of good used boats out there.

Do not purchase the boat until you have figured the problem out! It could be something very simple as balancing the load (batteries, fuel, tackle)or extra drag on the boat (transducer dragging or lower unit fin bent)or something very expensive or not repairable at any cost. Get and expert to look at the boat(there will probably a fee involved, but worth every cent) plus he can check all the systems in additional to the issue you have observed.

Thanks guys, it's a great boat at a great price. I had tracker look it completely over and they said the boat was mint. I'm hesitant to give up on it so easily but at the same time I don't want to buy a problem. I've looked all over the Internet and can't seem to figure out the answer to the problem. If I can't figure it out soon than I'm going to have to back out. Thanks guys! If any of you come up with the issue than I'd love the help!

Let me ask this, because I am new to the boating thing, could I be driving the boat wrong? I see guys say to trim it. Could that affect it? I have never been taught how to properly drive a boat so I thought trimming it all the way down was the way to go. Am I suppose to bring it up some after plane?

Yes, the motor should be trimmed up so that you can get on pad. If you left it down, you were plowing the water. Hard to say if that was the only thing causing the lean until you get it on pad right. You trim up until you start losing speed or there abouts.

See if the jackplate bolts are loose and check the boats tie-down hooks are they sunk in?
Yes you trim up as you increase throttle while on plane.
