At the current lake level, is the 515 East ramp good to use? I have used the 515 West a bunch, but never launched on the East side.

Right down the middle. One boat at a time, probably will hit a sand bar coming and going. If the lake drops another 6-8" then it will be hard for anyone not in a flat bottom boat.

You will also have to beach your boat on the ramp to drive your truck and trailer out or to pick up your partner if you have someone going with you. The sides are too shallow to beach the boat on without stepping into the water.

I have a 16 ft. Skeeter and I won't use the ramp until water comes up. The only place to pull boat up is directly to the right of ramp. Very shallow on sides and going out to buoy.

Good luck!

I used it yesterday, I have a Triton 186. I beached on the right side as your looking at the ramp while I moved my truck, etc.. It's not going to be usable much longer though I'm afraid.

We usually make a trip or two to Fork during the spring, but have mostly fished the western side of the lake. We were hoping we could launch on the east side and fish that end without having to make the run from Popes, which is where we stay.

Bassn5150 you can use the 154 public or the Minnow Bucket and be where you want to be. Both are still usable and the 154 has a courtesy dock. Minnow bucket you can beach your boat right by the ramp.

Do you know if the Mustang Resort ramp is still usable?

Minnow Bucket ramp is still in good shape. We launched their this weekend. The left side looking at it from the water had some sand built up on it, but the center and right side were fine. Also, if you haven't been to the bucket in awhile they have remodeled the whole store and restaurant.

Thanks a bunch for the info! We'll give one of those shot. If all goes well, we're looking forward to a trip out in late March or early April. I hope this year the wind doesn't blow 30 mph for three solid days.

Why do they have that poor bass in that tank in there? Feel sorry for that fish, needs to be released...

154 Public ramp is great and only three minutes further down the lake from 515 East ramp. Great ramp with dock. Very user friendly and this ramp was open when the lake was first opened at the "first stage" of filling. If the lake drops enough for this ramp to be unusable the other ramps won't even be walking distance from the lake.

The ramps I would use on the east side is Minnow Bucket or public 154 like stated above! On the west side the best ramps are Popes Landing, 515 west public, Val's landing.

Also wanted to add be careful running in Lil Caney where the boat lane gets skinny between Hide Away Harbor and Northwest Bay. There is a a stump right in the middle of the run, 2 boats hit it Saturday on plane
