I was catching some sand bass today and this big girl decided to eat my jig. She had what felt like two large sand bass in her belly. She was released back to eat some more. 24" long, 19" girth, and weighed 8.6. I decided to fill the vacant catch and release record for the lake.

Hope she has been eating sand bass. I've often wondered if they did. Nice catch!

Great job buddy and Congrats on the C&R Lake Record for sure! I like that!
And the black bass will indeed eat sandbass. I have had big black bass chase sand bass to the boat many times at Fork when they were on my line.

Nice fish! Is that Hwy 21? I'm guessing the 1520 bridge near Barefoot Bay Marina. I've caught several bass there while fishing for Crappie. I have a friend of mine who has caught three of four bass over the years ON a Crappie in the same area. He was Crappie fishing and the bass nailed is Crappie while reeling it in. He released them right away. Fun fight on a Crappie rod (ask me how I know).
