Paired on a Pro Qualifier with braid, what is this setup best suited for?

I have the same rod, and like it with braid (no leader) for froggin'....but I've been wondering why anyone ever put micro guides on a rod blank. Can someone enlighten me?

Whatever you do...don't cast an a-rig straight over your head. Well unless you want a two piece rod. Luckily I had been a sucker and bought the warranty. Oh watch the inserts too...I had one that kept popping out.
