Steve and I fished Grapevine today from 7:30-12. Lost a 3-4lb fish at the boat on an Strikeking 10XD crankbaits. Steve caught a 6 lb bass in two foot of water on a jig.

Proud of my little man today. Caught this chunk from the bank. Blanked myself, which made him pretty happy.

They were biting yesterday. Good Job Rangerman and Steve! I was out there until 11:30 but didn't run into you guys...I did have a man, wife, and child try to take over my spot once they seen me catch one. I kept my composure, though, only because of the little tike.

Thanks for the comps.

We launched @ Lakeview South (Not a ramp for a novice to back down by any means) The ramp drops off pretty good once you get to the gravel portion@ the end. Launch fee was $5 and just enough water on the bank to pick your partner up w/o having to wade out to get in...

Conditions were ok. Light to no breeze, over casted and warm w/water temps @ 53.6. We started off @ the dam in hopes of chasing some brownies. Had 1 under, 1 slot, 1 good Brownie bite (I totally shanked that one) and a good one break off fishing 2-8'. All the bait and action seemed to be out in the 18-30' range. That's where Tony got the 3-4lbr on a 10XD (I could only imagine that the shallower bite on the dam would of started to get good later in the day). We decided to hit a secondary point w/good rock and ledges for the last 30 min. Had 2 lethargic bites and the 6lbr to call it a wrap.

The weapon of choice for me were some new items that I picked up @ APT (Anglers Pro Tackle). Impulse 6'9" MH all purpose rod, 1/4oz. Zorro finesse jig in watermelon candy and 15lb Inviz-X. If I was able to get out again and use what I learned on Sunday. I would down size the line and go w/10-12lb w/a 7' rod, fish a little slower and concentrate on the 8-16' range if light to calm conditions and 2-8' if breezey.

Hope that helps and may yall be blessed w/a Sal...
