Anyone here. Have a Spooky storie; to tell while fishing?
At Night?
Thank-you.

Was fishing for crappie off a dock with dad late one night at the small private lake across the street from my parents' house. Started hearing a loud, large SPLOOSH every few minutes. Wasn't a fish, and really sounded like someone chucking head-sized rocks out into the water off the dam, anywhere from 100-200 yds away from us. Didn't have a light bright enough to shine the dam to see what it was. We thought maybe my uncle had stopped by for a visit and figured out from mom that we were down there fishing, and had snuck down to mess with us, especially since he called us and was at the house after we had heard this several times. Finally wrote it off as someone, maybe some kids, just screwing around, but were still a bit creeped out because that didn't really make sense. The sound was most definitely something breaking the water's surface from above (ie non-fish).

A few weeks later, I solved the mystery when I heard the sound again during the day and identified the culprit as a beaver.

No fish is too good for the grease.

Went hiking with a friend in the Colorado Rockies. We hiked up to just shy of timberline to a high lake with a stream. In the middle of the night, sleeping in our tent, we hear this screaming coming from across the lake. It was really spooky sounding and we wondered if it might be a Mountain Lion or something we didn't want to think about, cause we were the only people up there!
