I am going to buy a new reel and was looking at the revo s and anyone please tell me if they are good reels ar is there another reel that's better in that price range

yeah, good luck don't better than a $100 tatula...I've got 3 as well and will be adding more.

My Revo S reels have worked great. The Revo reels have a stronger drag system than most reels. You can actually pick up an SX on ebay for cheaper than an S in a store. I seen them the other day for $116 with free shipping. There is not really much of a difference in the reel but why not upgrade if it costs less.

All of the reels mentioned are great reels. I had a Revo S, but couldn't ever get comfortable with it because of the bigger gearbox design on the Gen 3 models. All of the Revo's I have are Gen 1's. That gearbox and the way I have held the rod never worked. Not sure where you are buying the reel from but I would put it on the rod just to make sure it feels good.

My son bought me a Daiwa Lexa 100HS for Christmas and I love it!!!

I have 3 1st generation revo s and they are bulletproof!
