I work at a bar and a little over a yr ago I broke a bone in my left ring finger while breaking up a disagreement. I soon discovered that I couldn't use a bait casters anymore becouse the way the hand sits when holding a baitcast combo, when i set the hook all the force went directly to that finger. Six months later it was still the same. I decided that if I had to use spinning gear then I wanted good stuff so I sold all but 1 of my bait casters and replaced them with quality spinning tackle. The blessing is during that time, I became a fairy wand wielding machine becouse I had no choice. Then one night in September on a local lake I saw a stump and ask my buddy if I could pitch his jig rod at it, it got slammed by a 4lb bass, I set the hook, landed the fish and looked at him and and my hand and while smiling I said "that 4 lber is gonna cost me alot of money". I would like to thank my buddy's and the TFF for helping me retool without having to get a loan to do so. So here is what I got for under $500.

#1 Shimano citica on bps heavy action 7' bionic blade, it's my jig rod
#2 bantam curado on an all star 7 ft mh Carolina rig rod, it my c - rig rod
#3 Shimano ceanen on a TFO 7 ft signature series. It's gonna be my top water rod.
#4 quanta burner put on a 7 ft all star cranking rod. It's gonna be my trap and square bill rod
#5 Shimano ceanen on an all star asr 7 ft mh Worm rod. It's my tx rig rod

I'm keeping the fairy wands for drop shot and shake heads and weightless. I'm ready for action!

Haha. Kinda know the feeling. I suffered from a torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder last spring from fishing. Since then, I have really had to relearn hook sets. And I really use my left handed BCs a lot more. Haha. Sucks too. I have several $1200+ right handed reel combos (like my TFF name implies). And it hurts almost as bad leaving em on the deck as it does using them. I have found a nice combo in Lews Team Pro reels and Falcon Cara rods. Sad thing is, I actually like the cheaper setups BETTER sometimes.

Oh well. Glad you're back to ripping lips!

Did you wax your rods?

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,

there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

Nice set ups. Did you ever try LH retrieve baitcasters when you broke your left ring finger?
