If this is common knowledge to you, which appears to be fewer than I thought, I apologize. It is NOT illegal to catch and release stocked trout in Texas! There are no exceptions, this includes state parks! Yes common fishing etiquette for bait fishers would be if the fish swallows the hook don't throw him back. Yes try using barbless hooks. Once again if this is common knowledge to you, I apologize! I am fully aware that in most cases the people that run there mouth are not catching fish or talking with out knowledge of the laws. It seems that this year it has become a topic of confrontation more and more. Please spread the word, and lets just have fun fishing!
