It will be my first time to Caddo. We will be there March 19-22. Any general bass info about the lake? Should I stick to the main lake area or the backwaters on the west end? I'm looking for a decent place to stay for 6-8 people. Maybe a lake house/cabin with a dock on the water. We're really just trying to narrow down the best area of the lake to stay at based on fishing in the area. If anyone has any tips or suggestions I would appreciate it very much.
Wishin I was fishin!

Throw at the scattered cypress trees and let a Trig or senko go to the bottom and hold on. I have never fished the main lake, only the back waters but a beautiful place. Its very shallow so stay in the boat lanes!!
You never want a drink of water till the well runs dry

Main lake Big isolated cypress trees or isolated clumps for size. Grass beds for numbers. The area where the river hits the main lake on the west side of the main lake is very good. Like he said Fish a soft plastic all the way around the trees. I always did very well on a weightless senko or tx rig lizzard. The bite on the trees can be slow but can reward you with the fish of a lifetime. You can get in the grass and catch 20 fish real quick and have a blast. Just depends on what you are wanting to do.

There are some houses/camps for rent around the lake, which might be a good option since you want a dock on the water and have that many folks going with you. You might find something up in big cypress bayou

I have been going out there for 15 years now in March - we have stayed at place called Tuckers. it is not 5 star accomdations by a lady's standard. But we are talking about 8 guys that are there to fish, drink, eat, and have fun so to us it is GREAT.
