I know this topic has been covered before, but I haven't seen anything on it recently.
I have an EZ Loader trailer that is about 6 years old with some chips and rust spots that are only going to get worse. The places that do bedliners tell me it will cost about $1,200 to coat it.
I remember some good reports about a place around Dallas that does this pretty reasonably, but don't remember the name. As an alternative, what has anyone found for a do it yourself solution?

If its a tube trailer, scrap it. The rust on the outside is only a hint of whats inside those rails. Trying to coat a tube trailer is throwing good money after bad.
Get a C channel frame trailer next time.

The chips and rust are mostly cosmetic so I don't think the trailer needs to be replaced yet.
Considered powder coating but thought it was too brittle and would crack or chip pretty easily.

+1 on the powder coat. $1200 seems high to me. If it is the spray on liner how are they suggesting that they will get it inside for full coverage? I would rather take it and have the trailer sandblasted and dipped for full coverage if I was spending that kind of money.

I sandblasted the trailer myself, that saved me $400.00, the powder coating itself was $400.00. I had the axles painted with epoxy and urethane.
