I want to add a couple of these to the back of my yak using gear trac and T-bolts that will be used for storing spare rods when I don't need the crate. I have one zooka and the ability to maneuver it into whatever direction is nice. Which do you prefer?

There is no good, solid ball mount rod holders.

These will be strictly for stowing them and not baited and fishing but I hear ya if I chased the big cats like you I'd want something better I'm sure.

If those were my only 2 choices, id go with Zooka. They look more versitile IMO.

Scottys with the micro disc have worked well for me.
depends what style of fishing you do. i think bee readys are great for drifting.
beind me i use the flush holders that came with my yak. id like some adjustables
back there if i did more river/creek fishing though.

ram ball mount works well for sonar IMO.

I had the ram tubes on my old yak and they worked very well.

Zookie is more flexible if you do both spin and baitcasting. I assume you are talking about the ram tube being just the long tube with no features to cradle your reel. They are great for holding your rods upright but the minute you put them horizonal, anything that grabs your rod Itrees, stick ups, etc. will pull it out. The zooka at least has some indentations to help secure your rod by grabbing the reel. My .02
