I want to use this unit to provide my speed in the dash. Can I epoxy the transducer that came with the unit inside the hull?

The transducers for the Helix 5 SONAR, Helix 5 DI, Helix 5 SONAR GPS, Helix 5 DI GPS can be used for shoot-thru.

You won't get speed with the Helix 5 SONAR.
The Helix 5 SONAR GPS unit will give you speed.
