I'm new to the Gar fishing, and was curious where I could start fishing for them from the bank in the DFW area. The more specific the response the better, and when should I start? April, May?

To the Texas Fishing Forum. Glad to have you on board. I don't live your in area and I don't target Gar. I have caught a bunch of em over the years in creeks and rivers. For what I know they usually get active in the warmer months April through September. Check out the rivers and creeks in your area and do some scouting trips. Hopefully some anglers living in your area will respond. Best of luck.
