The NuJig Elite is added to the NuTech arsenal. it features a cutom designed 5/0 Trokar hook. not only does the hook feature a Trokar point, but it is the stoutest hook on the planet.

the original hook that I designed back in the 80's was a 5/0 also produced by eagle claw. this hook features the same great bite angle of the original hook, but is made of heavier wire, and has somewhat of a modified o'shaunesey bend.

NuTech is dedicated to put better fishing tools in your hands.

Thank you!! I am glad you both listened to the feedback from those who was honest with you. All this jig needed was a decent hook to push it forward. I will be giving it another try. Yall want the ones I have with gold plated hooks back?

man I'm a Trokar fan and I would bite at this, not sure if valid, but one thing I'm looking for in jigs now which isn't as common, but I think is beneficial, is recessed eyes. this is not a critique, just asking if you have this available with recessed eye or if not, just take this as feedback. thanks.

actually, when you recess the eyelet, you have decreased your leverage to help turn the hook to vertical to get a better hookup.

interesting, not sure I could wrap my head around that unless watching an underwater video in slow motion. I'm not sure how much the line moves around the eye, my guess would be not very much and stays in a top dead center position. so if line doesn't move around eye then I don't think recessed is much different. if line does move to top of eye then I guess you're saying that creates a better hook set than if line stays at TDC of eye, which it would be forced to do if recessed.

how nuch difference is there in using a 3t. pry bar opposed to a 6ft. pry bar?? recessing the eye, you have lost the diameter of the eye in height. it may seem insignificant, but does make a difference. same can be said for using a flat eye hook instead of a vertical eye hook. with the flat eye, you are always pulling from the top of the ring. with a vertical eye, you are always pulling from the center of the eye. even that small difference still adds to better turning power to get the hook to vertical in the fish's mouth during the hooking process.

I know their is a big difference in a 3' and 6' pry bar but the eye of a hook is not 3' long. I am guessing but the trokar doesn't need a lot of pry to get in a bass mouth. I know we all want the hook in the top but I was always told it had has much to do with jig head design on how it turns the hook to set in the top of the mouth. just my .02

I may try one of these because of the hook I agree with Rob in that I really like the big sharp hooks, with enough rod and line you can turn a fish with a Trokar hook LOL
