Check out sudden impact and CJs baits which I believe are both sold at academy. I've heard lots of good things about chemdawgs bait!

Stay away from any "magic" baits

Don't have to go to the store, order from Stubby here, and delivered to your door. I have to hide mine, because my friends try to take it!! It is that GOOD!!

None for me. Have tried many and go back to livers and cut bait.

Not implying that I am partial to Stubby's , but I usually keep a dozen containers on hand

+1 on the chicken livers and cut bait. Plus it's cheap. Your mom can get frozen livers at the grocery store,I had to ask the Butcher to order some. There hard to come by in certain neighborhoods, i just keep them in the freezer, they don't stink and you can refreeze them.
A cheap throw net at Academy or BP or Walmart is like 25.00 dollars and that's all you need when you start. Be sure and get a small net until you learn how to throw one. You'll need 2 buckets, when you catch them put them in first bucket of water and let them poop and whatever. And then move to the second bucket ( no water) ,that way you will have good clean shad. The small ones are called threadfin or hookers. The big ones are call gizzard shad or cutters (these are the best). Put some salt on them and they'll stay fresh for awhile. I wouldn't put these in a house freezer (if you have any left over).Your Mom might kill you! I usually use a circle hook about a foot off the bottom. You'll learn, and these guys on here will help you if you have any questions. I mainly look for those green lazy trash fish that you shouldn't eat. Don't eat the yellow ones, they taste bad. Good luck to you,and it's a great sport to be involved in.Cat fisherman are some of the nicest people you'll meet. Check out the videos.

chicken liver

easy way to throw net

I'd gotta go with Chemdawgs bait. I use it all the time, i've landed some nice pan sized cats, so I know it works. Not saying any of the others dont work but i always try to support my local TFF'ers.

If you want the fish, you can't lose with Stubby's. If you try them all then you will know what works best for you without talking negatively about someone's bait. They all work, just some better than the other, and believe me the catfish doesn't know what bait is made by who... Tight lines and have fun...

All are good, but I've had the best luck with CJ's Monster and Crawdad flavors, in the spring. It also stays on the hook very good in moving water.

Do not buy gulp catfish bait it does not work I've used it side by side with liver and the liver wins.
