I was pretty darn sure I could ketch me a crappie fish yesterday , matter of fact I would have probably put money on at least one of them .there were loads of them in there a few weeks back and I find it difficult to imagine them all being totally gone . so as I pitch repeatedly around cover and in spots I have managed to ketch quite a few in the recent past . I find not a nibble or peck . one spot in particular looks to be THE spot for a bunch and several other spots as well .but NO not a take one , not even a maybe a peck ! the water seems to be similar to past visits in clarity and level . I don't know how much the temperature has changed in it though and for totally sure the ONLY darn thing I can ketch now in there is them DANG sand bass



oh well I suppose time to move on to another spot
them sand bass are very hard on my tackle
I am on my number 3 spool of line this week
lost a few floats as well ....
they have destroyed my arsenal of Thermocline silver flash lil fry
and somewhere around 75 or more of them striped beasts in the last few days
guess it may be time to travel on to greener pastures

Still not a bad substitute! Even though they don't fight or taste as good as Crappie they will fry up nice.

not in a lake sir ....I am the one that ketches in the trinity river system
one thing for certain that there trinity river is sure flat full of big fat fish in places

I think there is a consumption ban on certain places on the Trinity! Oh well at least you got to catch some fish.

I wouldn't eat anything that came out of the trinity

Catching is fun but the meat is soo good.

It all depends on what branch of the river and at what point on each branch your speaking of. Below are a list of lakes the various branches of the river feed. Other than Lake Worth and Lake Livingston I have consumed fish out of each of these lakes and would not hesitate to do so again. Though eating fish that are river raised may be considered different than fish that are lake raised, I would still eat fish taken from the branches of the river prior to them passing through Fort Worth, as that is where I believe the majority of the pollution in the branches begins.

I typically release fish I ketch in the river system
although I hear regularly the crappie and sand bass are ok to eat in most spots

Plano sewage goes into Lake Ray Hubbard. I used to live by Brekenridge park in east Richardson. Every time we got a big rain, raw Plano sewage would come down the creek and the banks would be covered by "Floaties" ( Misc. stuff people throw in the toilet)

TPWD has Lake and River Stats on Consumption, go to the Website and you'll be amazed at where there are Limits..... Most nearly EVERYWHERE!!!!

tried to tell folks that most of our DFW waters are not edible fish waters
they laugh me off and eat away on em
some have amounts recommended that are so low a single fillet a month is the limit
and most of them say pregnant women and children should consume much less and or NONE !
