Hello everyone! New to TFF. Have a question for all. Thinking about buying a bay boat. It's powered with an Evinrude Etech 175. I Would like some opinions on the motor. I've run Mercurys and Yamahas, but not an Evinrude. Pros and cons. Thanks

I have a 90 on my new SeaArk. The motor kicks butt. Much better than the Yammie I had.

Here in deep south Texas they've had their share of issues, maybe because of heat and humidity and their sensitivity to how the fuel and oil tanks are installed. When they run, they're just fine. Good luck buddy.

I have the 200 e-tech on my boat. I've had the boat for two years and no problems yet.

I'm running an 2008 on 2009 BassCat Cougar. It's been an awesome motor thus far. Had an issue with one injector bug it was under warranty so really no issues.
Was going to reporter last yea bug it inky has 160 or so hours on it so I thought I'd invest in power poles instead and keep my RUDE running. It's really much better than I ever anticipated

I was worried about the E-Tec when I bought my ranger. It's a 07 model and I was a merc guy... Honestly I love my E-Tec... I say go for it. Service them like you are supposed to and run what oil they say to run and should be fine.... That's what I do!

The factory says no service before 300 hrs. I don't believe it. The lower grease needs to be changed at 100 to check for shavings and water. I also think that having the computer put on it and checking for codes every 100 hrs is smart. The computer stores everything that happened and I wold rather catch an issue before it becomes an expensive problem. If you are a shade tree mechanic who likes to tinker in the garage, this is not the motor for you. Everything is diagnosed and adjusted with software.
