Anyone fish it lately? Might get a chance to sneak out tomorrow. Any info would be great. Haven't fished it in a couple years.

Was there a couple weeks ago. Fish were just about to push up on beds. Should be a bunch on beds by now. Best success for us was was a 5 inch bps stick-o with a nail weight in the head. Any natural color worked well. Water is clear. We only fished the hot water side. I'm sure the same thing is going on the other side just behind. The harder it is to get to the back of a creek because of stumps...the better the fishing.

good morning,

went and looked at the ramp area yesterday, looks like hell.....!!!! talk to a guy loading up(about 2 pm), said he caught "small" fish, water temp...56...nothing on visible beds...I did not fish....

someone has to do something with the ramp area and the road.....!!!!!

I can't find out who's in charge, TPWD, county, powerplant company or the state....will keep looking around...

this needs to be a catch and release lake, except for about 4 weeks out of the year !!!!

good luck,
PURA VIDA,

Nothing is scheduled for 2015 for the road or the ramp. I have tried and tried to push the issue with my contact. The ramp repair was not in the allotted budget forecast for the physical year
The road issue :
The county has been notified several times and they are not going to spend the money. The road does not lead to a " residential or business " address.
There was talk with several of the production companies to fill in the holes, but that was in "13 and nothing came out of it.
Several guys have put quick Crete in some of the holes at times , the road just needs a serious overhaul.

And before anyone starts with they heard this and that and how do I know ?
My resources is about as good as you can get.
My wife works for AEP and she handles all the issues with the lake and is on the board .

I'd say you have a good resource! Maybe if the county charged a little to use the ramp then it becomes a business and that money could be used to help maintain the road. Just thinking.

Maybe a group of clubs and locals could team up to repair the minor stuff

Is the hole in the actual ramp? Last time I was there about a month ago there was a huge crater up at the top that you definitely didn't want to run into. That was probably the worst I've seen that particular area. You've always had to dodge holes going down the main road, but the top of the ramp area is pitiful.

Launched yesterday morning. I didn't see any problems with the concrete portion of the ramp. But the rest of it was pretty bad.
