 2001 mercury 225 trim problem

I have a Mercury 225 EFI and the trim will go up just fine but will not go down on any of the switches. When I hit the down button it is clicking in the motor. I am thinking maybe a solenoid or relay????

switch the relays and see if it acts opposite....... recently went thru this exact same thing, relays were it, do as told.

Switched relays and it did the opposite. Replaced the bad relay and the first couple times I hit the trim switch it didn't work. About the third or fourth time it started working and hasn't quit yet so I am hoping it is good to go.

mine did the exact same thing as yours did. worked perfect ever since.
