Hello just moved to within a mile of this little pond. Havnt been fishing in a year or so and figure I need to get back to it. Question though...I hear they stock this pond with trout. If this is true how does one catch a trout? I am used to catfishing..(and not really good at that either).
Anyone fishing this pond with any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You go fishing just as if you were after a perch, the trout act the same way. They stock small fry in the pond and any hook of any size is too big for their mouths. Tough fishing here because of extreme pressure on the pond by the residents.

I was looking at the stocking reports and it showed they stock adult sized trout, and fingerling sized catfish...guess whatever gets put in there gets taken out really quick.

They stock both fingerlings and Adults of both species.. This year had been pretty tough for trout.

I've been to the park by the softball fields, but I didn't see the pond. Where is it?

Lakeside only has less than 300 trout stocked every 2 weeks. The pond is big so that presents the biggest problem. Finding them. Once they scatter it's a challenge to locate them and catch a few.

You will get anywhere from 6" to 9" being max at Lakeside usually (but I have not been out this year, recovering from prostate surgery). Power bait in the dough form can be productive there. the trout are very picky and you have to have the color of the day to catch them. People have used super duppers/inline spinners also. I have better luck with power bait though. A small hook is the key. I use a slip weight, a small swivel with about a 18-24 " leader with a peanut size wad of dough around my hook. they have floating power bait. I have an assortment of floating and non floating. I have decent success with Power bait trout worms also, but by no means am I a trout master. Good luck hope this helps. Read up on the regulations for trout. I have had several conversations with the Game Warden out there. Last one in the area was a good guy. As are most.
May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

I just moved to the DFW area from Colorado, so I've fished for trout a lot over the last 20 years (admittedly out of a lack of bass productivity). I'm not sure if the trout here respond the same way but here's my two cents.
Trout in still bodies water rarely stay put. They cruise around at their preferred depth (usually dependent on water temp) so whatever your approach, be mobile. I usually use lures that I can move easily with. I like inline spinners, small spoons, and flies under a bubble. Patterns depended on the body of water but consistent producers were #1 or #2 Mepps in silver or gold, 1/8 oz Roostertails in firetiger or yellow spot, for spoons 1/4 oz Daredevil in red and white stripe or nickel. For flies, I'd use Stimulators, Royal Wulffs, or Blue winged olives for dry flies, or Prince nymphs and wooly buggers for wet flies.
My approach with trout was usually the same. Walk the bank and start casting in a fan pattern, varying my depth until I found where the fish were. Then I'd try to stay at or around that depth and just keep walking and casting. The important thing is to try different things until you find something productive. From my experience, trout aren't like bass and catfish where if you keep chunking something in front of their face they'll eventually bite it. If they didn't want it the first time they probably won't want it 12th time, so be flexible. Anyway, this could all be conjecture as this is based on Colorado trout but I think the theory is still sound. Hope this is helpful.

Cajun,
You got it figured out. I do not know why but spinners have not worked as well this year as spoons (ie. super dupers). Try either the brass (gold) prism lite 502 or the silver one.
TPWD stated on their website that in many areas the water is colder than normal. That can slow the trout bite some. The spoons have a slower action so that may be the reason the super dupers are working much better than spinners this year.
My goal was to catch a trout. Yesterday I caught 25 in 45 minutes. The silver super duper was working once I located them. Took about 2 hours of casting until I located some fish.
It's a big pond so that makes it more challenging.

Maybe I should go there and throw my trout colored HUD baits. Lol. Sounds like bass are getting fed pretty regularly.

Fished 2 hours at Lakeside this afternoon. Got 5 nice size (for Texas) rainbows all on a silver and yellow #4 panther martin spinner. Could not get a strike on super dupers and I tried 6 different patterns and 3 different sizes. Even the bait anglers were struggling to catch fish.
