My new flotation device finally arrived. Nothing special, but I intend on putting it to use as soon as I can.

Congrats!!! Opens up a whole new world of opportunities. I got one this year and mainly use it on ponds and in the creeks. I've been able to find crappie and white bass in the creeks that I couldn't have without a kayak. Hope your back holds up, I'm still trying to figure out what to do about that problem.

Nice! Welcome to the addiction!

My buddy has a Sun Dolphin that appears to be the same as that one (only older) and he likes it. The only complaint that he has is that his doesnt have any scupper holes so the water really builds up around his butt.

Looks like yours has a scupper underneath the seat though?

We just need some decent weather so you can break it in. Let me and Rob know maybe we can all go the same day. Wind is the first thing I look at when I'm deciding where to go. I kinda want to go back to Prosper Town lake again if the weather permits I'm starting to learn that place a little better.

It can be tough place, I got skunked the first few times I was there (not counting the big mud cat I caught)..... but I'm starting figure it out. The place gets a lot a pressure, but like you said it has some big fish.

Thanks guys. I know I'm going to love it.
It does have scupper holes in the seat so my rear shouldn't be too bad, I also have a thrown cushion that's like 2 inches thick. I'm going to sit on that to help keep me even more dry.
I didn't notice until later in the night, it has a drain plug on the front AND the rear. It's only a 10 footer but it's like the perfect size for my little frame. Plus I don't really need a carrier because it fits all the way down the bed of my truck if I have the tail gate down. Perfect fit. Still going to get a cushion for the bottom of the yak so I don't mess up the bottom but it lays flat as it is.

I have 5 PFD's to choose from that I already own. I'm all set there. I have a blue one that is really light so I think that's going to be the one I wear most of the time. I also have the exact same one in red. I should have all by bases covered and I've already registered it with the manufacturer so the warranty is now valid.
