Took fourteen Christmas trees out to the slip yesterday for deployment. How long does it take for the sap to dissipate and the fish to move in on them (assuming the crappie are coming in soon)?

At least you have water deep enough to sink some in under your slip

Good question. We have one at Lewisville. Put a condo in ours mid Dec, and six trees Jan 1st. No production yet. I expect guests to start checking into the condo any day now. And I'm looking forward to evicting them.

We caught fish within a couple days after we put in cedar trees. We did trim most of the small branches and almost all the little sticker branches off of them 1st. Lot of work, but we been catching Crappie off of the same trees for 3 years.

They will come to the trees with in hours if the depth is right. This time of year deep water brush and shallow in the spring.
