What reel and why? Nothing specialized, just an everyday utility bait cast reel.

BPS Pro Qualifier, I'd get 2 for 200 though. Pound for pound just as good as the 400- 500 reels. I have buddies who spend a ton of money on these fancy reels and always have issues with them. I finally sold the Pro Qualifier idea to them and they love them.

I just did that, Lews BB1 pro, a friend has some and while fishing in the last few weeks I caught several fish on one of his and was very impressed with it. We had a double double of very nice hybrids at the same time, it was smooth as glass. Other than the Lews it would be my Abu5000 that Fred reworked for me.
My Lews should be here next week I hope.

under two hundred is a lot of really good reels. I would stick with the Shimano, Lew's or AB Garcia reels they all have a good reel under two hundred. I have the Curado I and like them

Lews. Of I had $100 to spend? Lews. If I had $60 to spend? Lews. If I had $300 to spend? Lews. Haha. $600? After having spent that on a reel more than once, I'd buy two Lews. Lol.

I am biased but it is hard to beat the Daiwa Tatula or Tatula Type R

I think the white shimano chronarch e7 is $199. I have about 25 shimano's and some go back to the mid 90's. Never have had any issues with any of them. Clean and oil them once a year and have changed drag washers on the older ones. They have been such awesome reels that I don't have any experience with anything else.
