Looking for input on Bass Pros XPS fluorocarbon line. Can't really afford the expensive stuff so I normally stick with mono. The XPS is on sale right now and am wondering if its worth it. I've tried the 17lb test before and it was okay until it started wearing out. Thoughts?

I have used it for years from 10 to 20 lbs with no problem ,I have used the seaguar brand also .I will spray it with line conditioner and stretch it from time to time to make them last longer.

I currently use Seaguar... but used to use the XPS fluorocarbon and it is manufactured by a high end line company called Toray. Google it. I never had a problem with it just local places stock Seaguar so I went with it. Hope this helps...

I've used XPS flouro and thought it was good for the cost.

I used XPS for many years with no problems. I still have some. Really like the 12 pound test for weightless Senko type baits.

The 17 pound stuff is a little stiff but it is good stuff. I started using Seaguar Red when BPS raised the price on the XPS a few years ago. If you can find XPS on sale it's worth it. They used to do a buy one get one free a few times a year. Now I think the best price is buy one get one 1/2 price.

Forgot to ask, what pound test line do you use?

I normally use 12 lb mono and have tried the 17 lb xps and found it a little stiff. I think the sale is only for 8 10 and 17 lb test. Didn't see any other options. I would like something in the 12 to 15 range.

I've seen them have sales on only the 8-10 pound test lines before. Not too much help for texas bass fisherman in heavy(er) cover.

I use 12 on moving type baits like cranks, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits etc. 15lb. On jigs and worms. Braid on frogs and C-Rigs. I still use mono. On topwater poppers and Zara Spooks due to it's floating qualities.

I use braid for frogs and flipping and pitching cover depending on water clarity. Mono for just about everything else. I would use fluoro if I could afford it. Air Force paycheck doesn't let me. I would rather stick with mono than use cheap fluoro or Co poly. I'll have to give the xps another shot.

Have 17 lb test XPS floro spooled on my light jigging and worm rig at the moment. As noted in other post, it is a bit stiff as it has some memory, not too bad tho. I use a bit of KVD line conditioner when spooling it on and the line behaves well. Otherwise, I like it as well as invisix. Strong, limited stretch, and good abrasion resistance. Good buy on sale. Just get some KVD L&L conditioner and your good to go.

I use 17 and 20 XPS on lots of bottom baits and it's my favorite flouro. I still use big game mono for most moving stuff or topwaters.

It's decent line, but you will be hard pressed to beat the price on seaguar on tw right now... Look under the 25 dad of savings!
