Just bought the yumbrella. Never had an A rig before. Actually fought buying one for all this time because it looks like a real workout to fish. Anyway, do I just fish it like a spinnerbait?
Vary my retrieves, etc. Just looking for a little advice on how to work this thing.
I fish Texoma and its supposed to be a great winter presentation. Is the yum brand a good one?

Yum is a good off the shelf brand
I don't like the yum baits or hooks though Spread the wires out and start chunking
Yes I don't use it a lot but I fish it like a spinnerbait and slow roll it to get down

Put you some weighted hooks and swimming super flukes in white ice color. Like said above chunk it out let it sink and slow roll it back in.

Most educational video that comes to mind, hope you find it helpful. I don't fish the a-rig actively, and have only thrown a few times, but I keep up to date on any and all info I can fishing, and this is the best that came to mind, from Matt Allen @tacticalbassin. Not sure if Gene Jensen with bassresource has one, but they do have articles on them of course. wired2fish may have good info on them too. Add those 3 websites and corresponding youtube channels to your favorites, and follow them on facebook for updates when available. You won't regret it and will become a knowledge source yourself on more things than you care to know! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwZIMwqXP5k

I need a better find on the swim bait hooks, i keep grabbing the YUM but they seem just so so. Toss a good swim bait hook recommendation out there for me. I use the Flash Mob Jr.

Flash mob Jr., 65 lb braid, War Eagle jig heads- 5 to a pack, use double zz sway back swimmers - 8 to a pack, you will need a few extras, cause when the bass hit them they crush them! I will give you fair warning - its addictive! I throw the light War Eagle jigs cause they have a little bit lighter wire hook - I throw it in the timber, the 65lb braid allows you to just pull and straighten the hook out when you do get hung up -to get it back, then take your needle nose pliers and simply bend back to shape. The double zz sway back swimmers tail action is awesome! Bass hit it so hard! If you have not experienced it - you know not what you are missing.

I'll be throwing one tomorrow. It's a great way to catch fish. It's very addicting once you catch 4 at a time.

I think the guide I saw fishing these was using a Storm swimbait with the jig head that is pre rigged. That is what it looked like on the deck of his boat.

I need a better find on the swim bait hooks, i keep grabbing the YUM but they seem just so so. Toss a good swim bait hook recommendation out there for me. I use the Flash Mob Jr. Call 270-259-0001 during normal business hours and ask for John. He makes them and sells them individually at that store (KY = no sales tax), so you can buy as many or as few as you like. If you tell him you want the ones he gave to me, he'll know which ones you're talking about. They've worked great for me so far. I normally throw them on heavy braid. Biggest I've landed on them was a little over 9. Also pulled up a brush pile from 30 ft that I'd bet weighed every bit of 100 pounds and didn't bend the hook (good workout if you're ever wanting to find a way to waste 30 minutes and be ready to feel like heading in afterwards). When the brush pile got near the surface I saw a flash of white. Fish was still on! Haven't had issues with the baits sliding down the hook with these either. Highly recommended!

Ive thrown A rig some almost every time I've been out...nothing yet but im sure it will happen, it has to. When we go to texoma im going to load it up with white ice fluke and try it with deadsticking heads and see what the stripers think of that presentation

The Flash Mob is good but they don't hold up the best. I use 1/8oz Picasso Smart Mouth jig heads and 3.5" boot tail LFT Magic Shads. I throw it on 20lb Sun Line FC Sniper if I'm not fishing around cover or if I'm fishing in clear water. In murky water or around cover I throw 65lb Power Pro braid. Most of the time I just use a slow, steady retrieve. Always check your wires with the Yum ones because they don't hold up too well after you catch a few or a big one. The cast after I caught this fish, the wire the fish was hooked on flew off.
