Does anyone have one of these kayaks or know of a place where you can check these out and take a demo ride in one. Me and my wife are wanting to get one this next year and I got some good advice on this particular kayak since we want to be able to set it up for the two of us to go in it and then for me to set it up when I fish alone in it and maybe look into a club or tournament trail in the future. I have looked them over on the internet and it looks like it will do everything we want but after the first of the year I want to seriously look at one and ride in it. Thanks in advance for any help.

You definitely would want to test it out with you + wife + gear.
I have a pair of Native Ultimate 14.5 Tandems. They are 8" shorter than the FX but have the same weight capacity of 450 lbs. Two full grown adults (assorted combinations totaling 320-390 lbs of body weight) was pushing things regarding weight, and only safe on really smooth water. Room room to cast could be a factor if you both fish, that 8" more on the FX could help there. My Tandems are okay for a grown man and a smaller adult, and great for an adult with a kid. I use mine in solo mode 95% of the time.
Mariner Sails could probably demo for you.

I have an Ultimate FX15T and love it. You can setup to demo one with Mariner Sails. 972-241-1498

I see Austin Canoe & Kayak lists the FX Tandem with a 450 lb capacity but the Native Watercraft site shows 600 lbs.

Rick Wallace, I saw an earlier post for someone who got a kayak from your place and checked out your website. After the first of the year I will contact you. Thanks for the response.

If you want a bow or stern skirt, I don't think the FX has the Adapt-a-Trak system. I use my bow skirt when it's windy, or to store stuff in the shade on hot sunny days.

I have a 16' Basic Ultimate tandem and it has a 600 lb capacity, the FX15 I'm almost certain has a 450 lb capacity. I would recommend a bow cover if you get the FX, they are $$ but worth every penny in rough water and or hot sunny days. I've bought Ultimate's from Rick at APT and from Mariner Sales, both are highly recommended.
