The Corps of Engineers had recently made a number of improvements and additions to the park. They spent the money and now it is only open 6 months of the year. Could someone please explain this to me?

The corp took the park away from the non profit group who was doing the improvements, last year. I guess it was being ran too efficiently!!!
They close from October to March now because they say there isn't enough people to make it worthwhile to have a gate attendant!!!
I argued about this with the Lewisville and Ft.Worth office for two months, but you can see it didn't help!!

I sure wish it was open all year.

I loved Westpark. I had my boat at King Brothers. I have moved the boat to Bedford/my garage. Does anyone have any suggestions on a lake nearby that I could fish?

Couldn't they just leave the gate open and have an honor box at the ramp?

Where were you guys last August when I posted for everyone interested to email and call the corp about the closing?

It was a political thing...the Corps took the parks in Texas back when they found out that they were not going to close during the last government shutdown.
