Does anyone know which letter or number of a GM vin number tells what the original color of a vecheial? Also where can i find what color goes with each letter or number? Thanks

The paint code is usually on the glove box door. Then take that code to Auto Zone and look it up in their paint book.

Here's the VIN decoder for GM the paint code is not part of it but like Chu said you should be able to find it in the glove box. Click here for VIN details

depending on the model, under the hood; core supt metal tag usually painted, firewall tag again usually painted, glove box, white sticker with a bunch of 3 didgit numbers and under the spare tire hard board cover, again big white sticker with a bunch of 3 digit numbers, the vin does not decode the paint, just options the veh was sold with

Since you guys seem to know where to look for stuff, how do I find out what gear ratio a chevy truck has. It's a 2006 Z71. Thanks.

Call the dealer with the last 8 of the VIN.

there is a metal tag on the diff housing cover that will tell you
