 How important are sharp hooks?

Back in the old days, I always had a jewelers file to sharpen the point, but now days most come sharpened by chemicals and hard to sharpen them back to the original sharpness. I just change hooks now

Same here. I can never get them as sharp as when they're new so I just
change them.

Having sharp hooks is very important. Having strong hooks so he point does not bend or break is just as important.

Very important to have sharp hooks but to me you better have a good barb on the hook if you want to catch. The barb catches the fish not the point, although they should go hand/hand for best results. IMO www.lakeforktxguide.com

If you second guess a hook go ahead and change it out

IMO www.lakeforktxguide.com If you don't have something relevant posted on your guide service page, could you maybe... not link to it every time you comment on a post? It is misleading and annoying to be quite honest. I always click links people share hoping they are networking valuable information, and when they are whoring themselves or their brand shamelessly it honestly just turns me away as a potential customer. Now if you had lengthy write-ups and tips and you commented and also linked to your in depth article already hosted on your website, sure. But that isn't at all what you do. What you do is link something that should only be in your signature as part of your comments. Leave it in the signature or in threads specifically asking for guide service recommendations or by you to show off successful trips.

No I just don't like the shameless plugs every post.... as if we didn't notice the giant signatures and links all below it... there is nothing remotely relevant on the page linked, therefor it has no business being shared. It was constructive feedback for both the site and his service from a member of the site and potential customer. Did I offend in some way while providing that simple and honest feedback?

Easy, Mark is one of the few guides that regularly shares real time pertinent information on TFF about Fork that I've actually used and had success with. I personally appreciate them. My motives for reading his info is just as suspect as his for posting but since the info is usefull I don't waste my time worrying about his. Ya, probably need to go get your coffee! :-)
