So took off work to fish this creek near by. I had noticed that there was a drain that was dumping water into the creek. Now the water coming in was or could have been from the dump that was located next to the creek. But I was not eating anything I caught anyhow so I peeked over the tinhorn and there were several big 3-5 lbs range bass waiting on bugs to swim by. I was armed with my 3wt. so gonna be challenge. I put on heavy tippet and some rubberleg furry fly and let it into the current. It drifted into the mix of clean and dirty water and line was tight. The fish took the fly and the race was on. OOOOPS [censored]. Not a bass but a carp had my fly. I almost broke the line cause I didn't wanna fight it soo long it died, but then I thought this is fun. Soo after several min I get it to bank and SNAP fish gone with fly. The carp was in the 8-10lb range, seriously!

I'd consider that one complete, lol. You caught it, you fought it, you brought it to the bank, but you didn't have to touch it!
Good story. Thanks for sharing it.

carp on the fly is weird, people struggle with there first few but once you have a couple under your belt you'll find that you can spot them you can target them and catch them constantly
