I have read on a few posts from other websites that there is a real problem with vandalism to trailers and thefts from boats both at the launch ramp parking lots and campsites at Fayette County. Have any of ya'll had any experience with this or are these just isolated incidents.

Was at Fayette Co. yesterday (2-10-03), there was no gate attendant present at opening nor, when we left at 2:00 pm. It is quite feasible some one could come in and burglarize and vandalize vehicles without ever being seen. We put in at Oak Thicket Park.

have been going to the lake for years, have never had a problem of any kind.there are usually enough activity around that i would think would ward off any dobadders. but in this day and time any thing is posible.i try to keep all important stuff covered up and locked up.when i have been at the lake a gate keeper has always been there. either way the drive down can be worth it a couple of weeks ago one of our club members had over 27 lbs. on paper, said he lost one that looked as if it may have gone 9 or 10 lbs.

I have called Fayette my home lake for the past three years and never had heard of anyone being vandalized or robbed (not saying it hasn't happened). The folks out there are very fine folks and if it did happen it would have to people visiting the lake.

I,m glad to see these responses to this post. I've never had any trouble at Fayette either and I now suspect that these negative coments I had read were an attempt to keep people off the lake. Also has anybody noticed that there is never a fishing report posted for Fayette on the weekly fishing report.

I have never heard of any issues. The attendant is usually there from 6:00am to 3:00pm at Oak Thicket. Of course lock your truck and boat lids when you leave a boat unattended anywhere would be my advise.

LeethefishKing... I have oftem wondered why there are not a lot of reports about Fayette. The best source for these reports though is the Houston Chronicle, www.Chron.com. They usually post one or two reports a week on this lake.

The only kind of reports I have been able to read on Fayette are by going to http://www.wmi.org/bassfish/ and then typing in the lake and state wanted.
