I am currently running a Lowrance Gen 1 HDS with structure scan. I have been looking at the Lowrance HDS Touch Screen which I am assuming are Gen 2, and the clarity levels, the options, etc, are amazing.
I have a few questions, one - where is the best place to go talk to someone in person and buy one of these units? The best prices in general?
Another question, I think since I already have Lowrance and the structure scan, that a newer unit should just be plug and play, but I'm not sure.

There's lots of knowledge derived from on water experience on this forum. As far as "plug and play" - yes, your new touch unit will use the same plugs as the old Gen 1 unit. You will use the same transducer that your LSS2 box (structure scan) uses...but you will no longer use the LSS2 box. It's built into the touch unit. Even if you move your Gen 1 unit to another location, all you will need is an ethernet cable to run from the touch to the Gen 1 and it will mirror everything the touch unit shows EXCEPT your Navionics chip. You will have to buy another Navionics chip for your Gen 1 if you want it to show on it.
