Today me and my brother were out in Ben brook launched and everything when we about to take off full speed my brother notice the boat sitting lower in the back than normally has before and when ever he would give it a good amount of gas it would sink more anyone know what could be causing this. I have an ALUMAWELD boat I haven't crash wrecked into anything my brother think it may be taking water but I doubt it was going to take in water sitting uncovered during the rain we had on Friday. Any thoughts?
The tilt gauge doesn't read anymore I'm thinking I might need to add some fluid to it maybe this could be causing the problem?

My live well started leaking and filled the bilge pretty quickly. Same kind of situation.

I've seen this before on some older aluminum boats with saturated foam floatation underneath the sub-floor. We noticed a wet spot underneath the transom of my cousin's Mon Ark after several days of being parked on a concrete drive with zero rain fall.

Yes, water saturated foam.....not a bad motor tilt gauge.
I had a '94 ProCraft that after a few years, the foam chemicals broke down and would absorb water. No hint other than the boat performace and speeds seemed heavy and it dripped water for days placed on trailer. Later hit a small boat wake on Amistad, stringers broke, boat cracked almost in half and could have sunk. Insurance totaled boat and fully covered.
Boat with saturated foam CAN SINK!!!

I read an article in a boat industry trade magazine a while back that was about the older foams breaking down and allowing water to be trapped but at 8 lbs a gallon it would have to be quite a bit of water and a small boat. The flotation foam has apparently been reformulated but I have no idea when that was. Call Alumaweld and ask them about the foam issue.
